Contract: 12-month

SUMMARY: Coordinates the Business Development resources to include educational programs directed toward individuals and clients of the district.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Consults with client to ascertain and define need or problem area.


Recruits experts and resources to provide professional guidance to businesses.


Instructs clients in the importance and significance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness and good work habits.


Maintain individual client files with appropriate records and upmost confidentiality.


Regularly visit with businesses to identify and develop new training partnerships.


Recruit, develop and supervise instructors to ensure delivered classes meet the training needs of the businesses.


Organizes schedules across BIS to provide oversight that training is aligned to meet the clients training needs. Assists ACD Evening Supervisors with transition of day and evening BIS classes and workshops to ensure effective communication.


Maintain constant, professional dialog with businesses in the district to ensure the delivery is relevant, timely and high quality.


Maintains records and reports required by the District and ODCTE.


Recruit and maintain an active advisory committee.


Participate in professional and civic activities.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred; or a minimum of five years business development experience; and/or a minimum of three years as a coordinator/trainer in a business setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must participate in Business & Industry Service Certification Program. The BISCP is designed to help BIS Coordinators more effectively meet their communities’ training needs.
